Anaheim Adult Day Care helps clients discover abilities and teaches the work adjustment skills needed to integrate into a volunteer or employment setting. As long as a client has the willingness to go through the discovery process, we strive to find the right employment for that individual! We strongly believe that purpose can guide life decisions, influence behavior, shape goals, offer a sense of direction, and most importantly create meaning in one’s life
Work Adjustment Phase
Our vocational program is led by a certified rehabilitation counselor. Clients work with our staff to identify vocational goals based on informed choice. The vocational exploration process focuses on client’s interests, needs, priorities, skills and abilities. We offer soft skills training. Topics covered include: workplace communication, enthusiasm & attitude, professionalism, networking, teamwork and problem solving. Our training is highly interactive; we use power point presentations, videos, role plays, hands-on activities, handouts and games. Our clients really enjoy our comprehensive approach.
Job Seeking Phase
Our community liaison works with community partners to create volunteer opportunities that strengthen our client’s skills.
We offer trainings and activities at the center where individuals develop a resume, participate in mock interviews, practice dressing for the job and learn employment protocols such as calling in sick. Clients work closely with our community liaison throughout the entire process of securing paid employment positions.
Once employment has been obtained, a job coach will be with the client every step of the way. The job coach will provide support, training, guidance, transportation, and educate clients in making informed choices. Our goal is to provide the necessary support to create a sustainable employment environment for the individual we support.
